Direct action against the fences
We encourage people to engage in creative nonviolent direct action against the fences.
Examples of nonviolent direct action may include: Information warfare, stickers, flyers, picketing, vigils, sit-ins, leafletting, letter writing, art, music, poetry, community education, civil disobedience, boycotts, sabotage, fraternization, noncooperation, general strikes. These examples are just that, examples. We don't endorse any particular tactic. Find others who share your opinion and who you can trust. Be creative. Be proactive.
Whatever your level of commitment is, don't just silently hate the fences.

Cornell University, the City of Ithaca and Newspapers and the Architect hired by Cornell University
Tell them what you think about the fences.
Demand open hearings about the fences
The students will not be here when the vote on the fences occurs in the summer 2011. Again the city and Cornell University will shut students out from discussion about the fences.
Send a letter or email to demand that:
1. all further discussions about the fences should be open to the public
2. all further discussions should be announced and widely advertised with adequate notice so citizens and students can contribute
3. all further meetings and votes should be scheduled while the University is in session so students can attend
4. the issue of whether the suicide fences are necessary must be discussed openly and voted on by Common Council before they are permitted to proceed on any other issue about the suicide fences especially erecting replacement suicide barriers
5. the secret meetings with Cornell at the Means Restriction Committee end immediately and the minutes of the prior meetings be published so the community can see what has happened at those closed and unadvertised meetings
